Artist's Description
An abandoned railway station in Ingersoll Ontario, Canada. The station was built in 1886 by the Great Western Railway which was later purchased by the Grand Trunk Railway. In 1920 it was taken over by the newly merged Canadian National Railway. In 1979 VIA took over the line and had no interest in purchasing the Train Station, instead they built there own smaller facility nearby. The train station was abandoned and as been decaying ever since. It was said that the property and building were offered to the town of Ingersoll at some point for the purchase price of $1 but was decline due to the funding it would take to restore the ageing structure.
